1. Who we are

King’s Auto Detailing (“King’s,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a home-based auto-detailing studio and online store operated as a sole proprietorship at 127 Woodberry Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320, USA.

2. Scope of this policy

This notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you:

visit kingsautodetailing.org or any sub-pages (e.g., “Book Online,” “Members,” “Shop”);
purchase detailing services or merchandise (such as our Signature Performance Tee);
communicate with us by phone, text, email, or social media.

It applies globally. Extra sections highlight rights for EU/UK residents (GDPR) and California residents (CCPA/CPRA & CalOPPA).

3. Information we collect and the legal bases for using it

Identifiers (name, postal address, phone number, email) – processed to perform a contract and for our legitimate interests in running the business.
Vehicle details (make, model, year, condition) – needed to prepare quotes and perform the detailing contract.
Commercial & payment data (services or items ordered, last 4 digits of card, transaction ID; full card details are held only by our payment processors) – processed to fulfil the contract.
Internet / device data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, cookie IDs) – collected with your consent where required and for our legitimate interest in securing and improving the site.
Coarse geolocation (city or region inferred from IP) – same bases as Internet data.
User-generated content (reviews, testimonials, before/after photos) – handled with your consent.
Account data for “Members” (username, hashed password, profile details) – processed to provide the member account contract.

If you decline to provide information needed to perform a contract (for example, booking details), we may be unable to provide that service.

4. How and why we use your information

Service delivery – schedule detailing jobs, process payments, ship merchandise, send quotes and invoices.
Customer support & communications – confirmations, reminders, post-service follow-ups.
Marketing – send offers or newsletters (only where you have opted in, if required).
Analytics & site improvement – monitor traffic, troubleshoot issues, enhance user experience.
Legal & safety – comply with bookkeeping and tax obligations, detect fraud, protect rights.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers (including Wix, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel) place:

Essential cookies needed for security, cart functionality, and booking sessions.
Analytics cookies to understand visitor behaviour.
Marketing cookies to measure ad performance.

You may manage cookies through our banner or your browser settings; essential cookies may still load.

6. When we disclose information

Website host and platform (currently Wix.com Ltd.) – to run the site, booking system, and member accounts.
Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Wix Payments) – to collect payments securely.
Email and SMS platforms (Google Workspace, Twilio) – to send transactional and marketing messages.
Shipping and logistics partners – to fulfil merchandise orders.
Advertising and analytics partners – to measure site traffic and advertising reach.
Government authorities or law-enforcement agencies – when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Business successors – if we sell or transfer some or all assets.

We do not sell personal data for money. If we ever “share” data or engage in targeted advertising under the CPRA definition, you can opt out via the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our footer.

7. International transfers

Because we are located in the United States, personal data from the EU/UK may be transferred here. We rely on our service providers’ participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum when needed).

8. Data retention

Booking and billing records: kept for seven years to meet tax and legal obligations.
Marketing consents: retained until you withdraw consent or after 24 months of inactivity.
Analytics data: stored for up to 26 months (Google default).
Vehicle photos for portfolio: kept until you request deletion or we refresh our portfolio.

Back-ups may persist briefly after deletion but are purged on their normal cycle.

9. Security

We protect data with SSL/TLS encryption, secure data centers, role-based access controls, and industry-standard password hashing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

GDPR / UK GDPR (EU/UK residents):

Access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
Restriction or objection to processing.
Data portability.
Withdraw consent at any time.
Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g., CNIL, ICO).

CCPA/CPRA (California residents):

Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected, disclosed, or shared in the past 12 months.
Right to delete personal data (subject to exceptions).
Right to correct inaccurate data.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not currently process sensitive PI as defined).
Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

CalOPPA / Do Not Track:

Our privacy link contains the word “Privacy.” We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out for sale/sharing. Older “DNT” browser headers are not currently acted on.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (U.S.) / 16 (EU), and we do not knowingly collect their data. Parents or guardians may contact us to delete any such information.

12. Third-party links

Our website and blog may link to external sites (e.g., Facebook, Instagram). Their privacy practices are separate; please review their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the new version with a revised “Effective date” and, if changes are material, provide prominent notice (such as a banner or email).
